Editor & Curator
Editor In Chief Mara Schiavetti started her career in her home town of Melbourne, Australia, as a hair and make up artist for the fashion and film industry. Her earliest recollection of a holistic lifestyle was picking fruits and vegetables from her Italian families organic garden, collecting eggs from the chicken coop, and watching her father make home made wine, tomato sauce and grappa (Italian alcohol). Then on weekends the family would hop in the Ford Zephyr driving to the expansive beach coast for camping trips.
Mara's passion for style and fashion was sparked by the cultural ferment of Ziggy Stardust and 70's platforms. She was attracted by the aesthetics and the geometry of the craft, leading her to enter the wondrous world and fashion and beauty. Mara was fortunate enough to work with some of Australia's most notable talents such as Nicole Kidman, Geoffrey Rush and INXS. As Australia’s movie industry grew Schiavetti worked on various film projects with international actors: Jeremy Irons and Liv Ullmann. This exposure gave her the desire to see the world, and after several years of travel, she decided to settled in New York City. Mara continued her successful career grooming U2, Sting, Tilda Swinton, John Waters, Martin Scorsese, Gerald Butler, Elizabeth Banks and many others and collaborating with fashion industry greats: photographers Stephane Sednaoui, Magnus Unnar and Regan Cameron, and supermodels Devon Aoki and Gigi Hadid.
Mara had always had environmental and human rights concerns and as her perspective broadened through travel so did her desire to be an agent of change. Her immediate concern were with toxic chemicals found in cosmetics and beauty care products. It didn't take long before she threw herself into the emerging field of holistic health and natural beauty, studying aromatherapy though the Australasian School Of Aromatherapy, and becoming a certified Holistic Health Coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City in year 2012, before founding AGB/A Green Beauty.
